Trauma can take many forms, and this course explores acute, chronic and complex trauma along with the neurobiology of the stress response. Learners study trauma-informed care, theories of how trauma is processed, coping and emotional regulation, communicating with survivors and the ethical side of trauma work. It builds understanding for helping professionals and carers, not qualification to provide trauma therapy.
