Suicide prevention is explored through the psychological factors behind suicidal thoughts, key risk factors and warning signs, and an overview of how risk is assessed. Learners also look at intervention strategies, therapeutic approaches, ethical issues and involving families and support networks. The course builds awareness for carers, educators and helping professionals; it does not qualify learners to diagnose or treat, and anyone at risk should be referred to qualified services.
